AGT has a career opportunity for a GIS Technician to work as a member of our team in Durango, CO. We
are seeking a candidate who can begin immediately.
Duties and Responsibilities:
This individual will provide technical support in GIS and GPS technologies to both staff and clients. The
ideal candidate will have a background in GIS, geography, computer science, or a related field.
• Provides GIS and GPS support for staff, partners, and clients.
• GPS data collection and post processing
• Develops hard copy and digital maps
• Performs edits to and analysis on spatial data sets
• Performs analysis on spatial data sets
• Analyzes problems and develops creative solutions with minimal guidance.
• Works within a team to promote AGT’s business objectives.
Requirements:
• Excellent communication skills
• Basic understanding of GIS concepts
• Proficiency with ESRI ArcView software (tabular queries, spatial queries, spatial analysis, editing,
cartographic output)
• Basic understanding of relational database structure and design
• Proficiency with windows-based computing environment
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
• Petroleum business experience is a plus
• Application development experience is a plus
• Must have a valid driver’s license for the state of residency
• Must comply with AGT’s Health and Safety policies and procedures
