The City of Milledgeville is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Technician. This position works under the direction of the Water/Sewer Superintendent and is responsible for providing GIS services to the department and its customers in the areas of spatial analysis, data conversion/integration, and cartography. Duties include field verification of utilities and infrastructure, map production, digitization/input of engineering sketches, report creation/dissemination, software troubleshooting and other duties related to water/wastewater service provision.
Candidates for this position must possess experience with the ESRI suite of GIS software including the ArcInfo and ArcView versions of the ArcGIS platform. Experience with related CAD/CAM software (AutoCAD/Cadcore/BDS-SBC91) is considered a plus.
Requirements: Candidates for this position should possess an undergraduate degree(s) in GIS, Geography, Computer Science, Planning, or related field from an accredited college or university, two years experience, or a combination of education and experience. EOE
