We are currently seeking a GIS Software Engineer to join our growing Technology team. The ideal candidate will be detail oriented, high organized, proactive, and a quick learner with the ability to multi-task. The successful candidate will be a team player with excellent communication skills. Preference will be given to candidates with a degree in Geographic Information Sciences or a related discipline.
Responsibilities:
This position will work closely with other team members including Developers, Database Administrators and Designers, and the Client Integration team. The GIS Software Engineer will be ultimately responsible for architecting and developing our GIS applications, as well as installing, configuring, maintaining and supporting our distributed GIS application and its databases. The GIS Software Engineer will be our ’subject matter expert’ and will be responsible for the quality of our GIS software and ensuring compliance with company high standards of security.
Required Skills:
- Expert level in ASP (VBScript), ASP.NET (C#), Java Script and HTML. ESRI ArcView, ArcSDE, ArcIMS, ArcObjects, ESRI ArcGIS Server (.NET)
- Proficiency with VSS or other Version Control System and bug tracking software
- Experience with MS SQL Server 2000 or 2005, MS Windows 2003, PerfMon, Traces, Profiler and Error Log
- Must have knowledge of release practice and project documentation experience
- Minimum five years experience in a data-drive web development
- Minimum three years development experience with ESRI products
- Experience with C++ or Java and T-SQL a plus
