Assistant Professor, Geographic Analysis and Visualization, tenure track (one full-time position). The Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences Program (IAS) at the University of Washington Bothell (UWB) seeks a dynamic educator who integrates teaching, research, and practice in geographic analysis and representation, including GIS, across diverse fields of study. Possible areas of expertise include: Environmental Science and Natural Resources; Community Studies and Participatory Mapping; Human Landscapes; and Planning and Policy. The successful candidate will join an interdisciplinary faculty working across the arts, humanities and social, and natural sciences in an integrative curriculum that emphasizes fieldwork and community-based scholarship and pedagogy. Data Transfer Solutions, LLC has immediate openings for a GIS Technician/Mobile Asset Collection Vehicle Operator/Driver.

Responsibilities
The MAC Vehicle employee will assist in driving and operating DTS’ Mobile Asset Collection vehicle; overhead digitizing of features using GIS; and GIS data extraction to support asset management projects.  This responsibility will require extensive travel for long periods of time including weekends.  Additionally, the Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Technician is a fully-trained practitioner who possesses full functional knowledge of the assigned specialty, may provide administrative support, and will frequently function independently. Research Associate:  Geographic Information System Developer in Wildland Fire Systems

We seek a qualified person to fill the Research Associate (RA) position in the development of GIS based applications. The RA will develop the GIS system applications that are central to the project. This project is aimed at developing the techniques that would be used by federal land management agencies to manage wildland fires across National Parks, the Bureau of Land Management and federal and state land management agencies.

Duties:
The RA will report directly to Professors Rideout and Wei.  Duties include development of GIS systems and applications that can promote the success of the project.  The RA’s duties will include extensive use of GIS and programming in Visual Studio.Net.  The project may also require running of programs and the storage and retrieval of data.  The GIS systems and modeling will potentially operate with wildland fire analysis software such as FlamMap although knowledge of FlamMap and other specific fire management software is not necessary upon application.
