We are looking for a GIS geocoding, mapping and database integration programmer for our web project.
Starting with USPS address web based standardization software, create standardized address to use as input to query Tiger files for geocode. Create program using map interface to allow use to drag and drop across map, to modify geocode. Use result to re-query Tiger files for jurisdictional data for integration with officeholder datafiles.

Position: GIS Consultant

Job Description:
Prime contractor (Client)–known for global management and technology consulting–works with many of North America’s largest public utilities for systems integration and outsourced projects. At present, Client is engaged with West Coast Utility in a large, multi-year effort focused on the productivity of field crews and the implementation of Smart Grid technology.
Specifically, Client is assisting Utility currently evaluation of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software evaluation and selection. This evaluative process will lead to RFP, vendor/product selection and implementation. Beyond those efforts, Client will also be involved in probable Work Management systems implementation and integration of GIS and Mobile applications to SAP and Legacy.
As such, Client is currently seeking a candidate with design and architecture experience in ESRI applications on Utility projects. This person will help client in the scoping of the project.

The duties of this position are as follows:
* Read and interpret source documents such as communication/telecommunication infrastructure plans and civil engineering plans.
* Assist with creation and development of databases.
* Enter data into the GIS.
Job Requirements
* Entry-level to 4 years experience.
* Associates or Bachelors Degree in Geography, GIS, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
* Experience with CAD based software such as Microstation and AutoCAD
* Able to read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and as-built drawings.
* Knowledge of and ability to translate telecommunication annotation.
* Detail-oriented.
* Strong communication, analysis, and graphic skills.
* Able to sit for long periods of time and stay focused on the task at hand.
* Willing to be highly productive.
The following experience is desired, but not required:
* Previous exposure to GIS based utility work.
* Exposure to ESRI GIS and Mapping Software such as ArcInfo, ArcSDE, ArcIMS, ArcMap, ArcGIS 9, ArcCatalog, Spatial Analyst, Network Analyst and geodatabases.
* Microsoft’s Office suite.
