Required:

  • Experience demonstrating skill using drafting and Computer Aided Drafting software.
  • Experience demonstrating skill reading and interpreting construction plans and/or engineering drawings.
  • Experience demonstrating skill following technical instructions or procedures (for example, operating procedures, standards, code requirements, specifications).
  • Experience demonstrating skill performing mathematical computations involving algebra, trigonometry and geometry.
  • Experience demonstrating skill using PC-based word processing, spreadsheet and e-mail software to perform work functions (for example, communicate with others, create and modify letters, perform calculations).
  • Ability and willingness to work overtime, holidays, and weekends as required.
  • Ability and willingness to work during emergency conditions and storms as required.
  • Ability and willingness to wear and use safety equipment as required by Federal, State, Local and company regulations.
  • Ability and willingness to adhere to safety regulations and policies.
  • Ability and willingness to perform both indoor and outdoor tasks for extended periods of time (for example, lifting, entering/exiting manhole covers, climbing ladders and scaffolding, bending, twisting, kneeling, crawling, pulling/pushing, standing, walking, and squatting).
  • Ability and willingness to work in a variety of work environments including outdoors in all weather conditions, on or around energized equipment, in confined spaces, underground, in heavy traffic and in noisy and dirty environments with proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must pass the Criminal History Records Check.

Marketing: Develop growth strategies based on market analysis and competitive assessment, and in conjunction with the product management team execute the growth plan. Demonstrated knowledge of the 4 P’s, including business case/value proposition development is essential in this position

Job Description:

Responsible for using state-of-the art remote sensing instrumentation and analytical tools to map lakebed, riverbed and seafloor project areas. OSI utilizes standard single beam (single and dual frequency), multibeam and multi-transducer sweep systems, and scanning sonars to map bottom topography, bedforms, natural and manmade debris, and to create 3D imagery of sites.  Duties include project setup, fieldwork, data processing, analysis of survey results, report preparation, client liaison and all other activities associated with our firm’s scientific and engineering support services.  Typical projects include surveys for NOAA, the US Army Corps of Engineers, as well as for numerous engineering clients supporting their permitting and design efforts on a wide variety of environmental remediation and infrastructure projects. Typical projects include pre-and post-dredge projects, reservoir safe yield analysis, cable and pipeline routing, navigation, environmental analysis/permitting, modeling and construction. Project work will be both domestic and foreign, and involve frequent travel for periods of one day to several months.

Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree of Science and/or experience in the fields of: Mathematics, Engineering, Surveying, Computer Science, Physical Sciences (or other closely related fields)

Geographic Information Systems and/or Geo-Spatial experience a plus.

Must have strong computer, problem solving, communication and organizational skills.

Enjoy hands on work outdoors / offshore

Must be willing and able to travel

Experience around powerboats, Captains license or safe boating certificate a plus.
