MERIDIAN Technology Group is seeking a GIS Desktop .NET Developer RS6572 with solid skills in ArcGIS 9.2 Desktop - ArcObjects using custom-built .NET/COM libraries to perform Toolbar/Tool customization, ArcMap document configuration and automated map layer editing, etc.
Must have ArcSDE 8.3/9.2 - ArcObjects/ArcSDE integration, command-line or desktop management utilities, troubleshooting, etc. Must also have .NET Studio 2005 - VB.NET typically, including deployment building, XML manipulation, integration with Oracle SQL/PLSQL). General data query/analysis skills using Oracle required. Windows mobile (Pocket PC 2003, Mobile 5) device integration using Remote API (RAPI) for file transfer, device disk/memory/connection status also required. GIS/other file reading/manipulation (ZIP, DBase, Shapefile, JPEG image manipulation). Software application development, source code management and experience working within a development team. Geometric network, linear referencing, or utility experience strongly preferred but not required if well understood. ArcPad and ArcPad Application Builder 7.x experience (porting application from 7.0.1 to 7.1, enhancing/extending code/data) strongly desired. Feature Manipulation Engine (FME) workbench development, automated/dynamic execution experience strongly desired. Equivalent GIS data extract/transformation/load experience (Python/ArcObjects, etc.) also strongly desired. Further skills in Java/web development, ArcIMS development, PLSQL development, GeoCortex-IMF development/configuration and UNIX software configuration/support nice to have.
You will perform desktop/mobile GIS/database application development for an end-to-end mobile GIS fielding solution and support various GIS desktop solutions. This position will additionally need to attend project meetings with customers as part of requirements gathering and help produce software technical design documentation prior to coding. Working with application packaging teams on release (for deployments) and performing training will be part of the deliverables.

General Description:
Working in a CMMI level 5 process heavy environment on this important long term project for the military.
General Requirements:
* U.S. Citizen
* Bachelors degree (Masters degree preferred) in Geography, Geographic Information Systems, Environmental Studies, Computer Science or other strong IT discipline
* Minimum five (5) years experiences in design and architecture of web based GIS applications (ESRI SUITE), 9+ years preferred
