ABOUT THIS POSITION
This position develops and/or coordinates work on geographic information systems (GIS) applications. Duties vary depending on assignment and may include performing mapping duties, assigning and checking mapping work, writing GIS models, or coordinating development and implementation of GIS computer applications within the department. Some positions supervise staff who develop and maintain the GIS databases, coverages, and linkages to various databases.
Currently there are two vacancies in the Aviation department. This eligible list may be used by any department for any current or future vacancies over the life of the eligible list.

$22.48 (minimum) – $33.63 (maximum) hourly /$46,758 – $69,950 annually. Appointment can be made above the minimum depending upon qualifications.

Two years of experience working with geographic information systems and two years of information systems or technology-related education; OR
A bachelor’s degree in geographic information systems, geography, planning, landscape architecture, civil engineering, computer science, or a closely related field.
Working irregular hours, second and/or third shifts, weekends, holidays, and evenings may be required.
An equivalent combination of related experience and education may be considered.

All positions in the Aviation Department require individuals to pass a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) background check prior to hire.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Includes the job requirements listed above, plus:
Experience using GPS equipment.
Experience working with a Work Order Management System.
Experience conducting End-user training for GIS web map applications.
